After weeks of negotiations, Joshua Kimmich and Bayern Munich have reached a verbal agreement to extend the German midfielder’s contract until 2029.

This decision puts an end to speculation linking Kimmich with clubs such as Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain. Bayern’s sporting director, Christoph Freund, hinted that an official announcement would be made soon.

This extension aligns with the club’s strategy of securing its key talents, including Jamal Musiala and Alphonso Davies.

Since his arrival in 2015, Kimmich has become a cornerstone of Bayern, contributing to numerous domestic and European successes. His contract renewal until 2029 confirms his central role in the future of the Bavarian club.
